Our Sister Company…

Bread & Butter is the sister company of A Verb for Keeping Warm and shares Verb's ethos of attention to the health of the earth by being sourced domestically. Bread & Butter yarns are made from U.S. grown wool, and are dyed, spun, and finished in the U.S.

We’ve used our 15 years of experience designing and dyeing yarn as well as running a yarn shop to create Bread & Butter. As the name implies, we envision these yarns as staples with which to knit wearable and comforting garments, accessories, and home goods.

We have always wanted to support our peers who own shops and it has not been feasible with Verb. Due to the way Bread & Butter is made, we are able to offer this yarn to wholesale partners and at a more accessible price point.

Drawing upon our love for natural dyes and how fluid they are when combining colors, we created a palette inspired by our local Northern California flora. Due to the milling process, the colors are slightly heathered and pair well together.
